Joe Andrew Spence was born on a trap line in Northern Manitoba, Canada. He loves hunting and fishing and being on the land.

Joe has been carving since he was a young boy working on his family's trap line. His inspirations for his cravings have come from the many adventures and experiences in the North.The style of his art is rooted in a love of naturalism. As well, he has remarkably incorportated an affinity for decorattive stylization and dramatic expression.
